Backup or export your user certificate on a Mac computer.

This procedure provides a way to export and store user certificate(s) in PKCS12 format.

Export certificate.

To backup your personal certificate:

• Open the Keychain Access, then select the certificate you want to export from the My Certificates category.
  
• From the File menu, select Export Items.
• Select a file name and make sure that the p12 format is selected.
  
• Select a password for the exported file. This password will be necessary to import back the certificate.
  
• Provide an administrator password to authorize the operation.
  

Import certificate.

To import your personal certificate:

• Open the Keychain Access.
• From the File menu, select Import Items.
• Select the p12 file you exported at the previous step.
  
• Type the password for the certificate file. This is the password you entered when exporting the file.
  
• The imported certificate is now in your keychain, under the My Certificates category.
